My previous note introduced a reviewer skill built from remote-sensing papers in Nature journals. It quickly exposed a more practical problem: remote-sensing work that reaches a Nature-level audience is often not judged primarily as an innovation in sensing methodology. Earth observation is frequently the entry point to a broader Earth-system question involving climate, hydrology, ecology, or atmospheric processes.
That means a manuscript is unlikely to face a reviewer with only one disciplinary perspective. It is more realistic to expect a panel of different scientific priors. I therefore built a reviewer matrix for interdisciplinary geoscience: nature-earth-system-reviewer-skills.
The current set covers four areas:
☁️ Atmospheric science 💧 Hydrology 🌿 Ecoclimate 🌍 Remote sensing and Earth observation
The Earth-system collection has so far analyzed 213 public peer-review files from Nature journals, extracted roughly 15,800 reviewer-comment units, and distilled several hundred reusable review patterns.
All skills are available on GitHub: nature-earth-system-reviewer-skills. Testing, stars, and issues are welcome.
